What To Expect

A former British colony, Singapore has thrived since its inception in 1819, boasting one of the world’s busiest ports. Sophisticated and urban, you will find five-star boutique hotels, high-end shopping and incredible cuisine on this island nation during your Southeast Asia yacht charter. Casinos also are on offer for those hoping to conjure the luck of the Chinese dragon. A melting pot culture offers various sections of the city from Little India to Chinatown; intricate and stunning temples from Buddhist, Taoist, Hindi and other tradi-tions are worth a look.

This city-state is home to various districts, each offering unique experiences. Marina Bay Sands located in the Marina Bay section of Singapore is on the two casinos located on the island. This higher-end version offers luxury at its finest. Roll the dice during your Singapore yacht charter. Perhaps a different kind of green is in your sights? The Marina Bay Sands also offers a renowned golf course, home to the challenging Barclay’s Singapore Open. Bring your clubs and hit the green for a morning round.

The offshore islands of Singapore provide the best beaches. Sentosa is home sheltered beaches, one of which, Palawan Beach, is located on an islet off the coast and can be accessed by a suspension bridge. Siloso Beach and Tanjong Beach also can be found on Sentosa. Siloso provides a social, lively atmos-phere of watersports, beach activities and is lined with restaurants and shops, while Tanjong is more secluded.

Enjoy the beautiful Singapore Botanic Gardens, an excellent place for a morning run or jog. Frank Stella installations and Dale Chihuly crystal sculptures welcome you into one of the finest collections of modern and contemporary at the Ritz-Carlton. If you’re in the mood for retail therapy, Haji Lane has been likened to New York’s Meatpacking district or Le Marais in Paris. Finally, take in the whole of Singapore with a ride on the Flyer, best done at dusk so you can watch the city come alive with lights.
